Senator Bernie Sanders on Bill Moyers
Senator Bernie Sanders is one of the few politicians who tells it like it truly is and wants the best
for this country especially the poor and working class. His interview with Bill Moyers will make
you feel angry and frustrated because he explains how this country is becoming an oligarchy.
Watch this and you will be even more stressed about the election because you will feel that there is little hope because both parties are run by big business http://billmoyers.com/segment/bernie-sanders-on-the-independent-in-politics/

19,000 Children Living in Homeless Shelters in NYC-Billions Spent on Elections
It was reported today that 19,000 children are living in homeless shelters in NYC. Then I read about how much is being spent by Republicans to defeat President Obama and I also think about how much President Obama and the Democrats are spending to stay in power and I wonder when did we get so hypnotized by these people and allow them to ruin our way life which is caring for others and a better way of life. That is what our founding fathers envisioned but both parties have forgotten that. Read the following http://www.forbes.com/sites/clareoconnor/2012/04/27/how-karl-roves-billionaire-backed-super-pac-will-be-election-game-changer/ and then watch the following http://www.upworthy.com/an-amazing-speech-from-one-of-the-last-good-men-in-politics?g=2&c=bl3
We have become a nation of greed that doesn't care about it citizens or about their way of life.

NYC Police, Presidential Elections, Conventions and the American Public
I haven't written anything in quite some time on my blog, but there are just so many things happening that seem to make you wonder about what is going on in New York City and around the country.
The New York City police force has shot 2 men in a one month period and both were questionable responses. The investigations in both cases were very quick and done by the police department with the Police Commissioner saying they were legitimate shootings. One man had a knife and no gun and the other had a gun that was jammed. Maybe it is time for an independent committee to investigate the training and behaviors of the police department as well as the possibilty of a coverup. It should not be left up to the police department to investigate themselves.
November is near and its time for another election. This is for all the marbles. President of the United States. You would think that with such an important election people would be able or desire to sit down and find out what the candidates stand for and how they will implement their policies. Everyone complains about gas prices, unemployment, health insurance, increasingly high inflation, lack of pay raises, schools and the involvement the United States has in other countries. Everyone complains about these things but does anyone know about these things? Does the average citizen know why gas prices are high? Do they know why health insurance is so expensive? Do they know why unemployement is so high? The highest rated TV show during the Republican convention was Honey Boo Boo http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/31/honey-boo-boo-ratings-top-republican-national-convention-rnc_n_1846155.html. I see lots of comments and slogans on facebook and twitter but I rarely see any true discussion of ideas. All you get is Obama did this and Obama didn't do that. Search for answers why rather than just complaining about it and waiting for the next guy to have the same problems. Force your leaders to answer your questions and get involved. If you don't then you will keep complaining and fall deeper and deeper into debt. The middle class is disappearing because of a lack of desire to stop bad government and bad leaders. Get involved. Ask questions and look for answers.
Hurricane Issac has caused massive flooding in New Orleans. People have had to abandon their
homes and for the second time in 7 years seen their lives turned upside down. What does the Republican party do? They throw a big party for themselves. What if they had taken that money and used it help the people of this catastrophe. Then they would have shown compassion and won over the hearts of millions of Americans. However, they just throw a big party. They cry about the high debt but rather than do anything about it they stall Congress and yes, they throw a big party. What if they used the convention money to help people get jobs? No, better to throw a party because the American public is a bunch of suckers and will vote for them anyway. Next up is the Democrats who will do the same thing. They will throw a big party at the voters expense. Lots more canned speeches that tell you nothing. All they do is complain about the other guy and say why he failed. No one says lets work together and make things better. The Democrats and Republicans are playing the American public for the fool and getting away with it because the American public allows them too.

Feeding the Protestors of Occupy Wall Street
Working hard and helping your fellow man while trying to change a societies value system. This is a great story on the people who have helped to feed the people involved with Occupy Wall Street

Where are the Celebrities?
On 10/14/2011 Mayor Bloomberg will begin his attempt to remove the protestors from Wall Street. Tomorrow may see lots of arrests when the protestors try to go back into Zucotti Park after the cleaning. This causes me to ask where are the celebrities who believe in peaceful protest? Where is Michael Moore? Where is Al Sharpton? Where is Jesse Jackson? Where is Roseanne? Where is Tim Robbins? Where is Alec Baldwin? These are just a few of the names who have had comments or showed up at the park but don't seem to be around when the pressure is on. If the big names showed up tomorrow would the Mayor feel as empowered? Would it be easy for him to arrest Susan Sarandon? Would it be easy for him to arrest Jesse Jackson? The President and other politicians have said they agree and understand the protestors. Where are they when the situation becomes tough?
The new question becomes is who can really be trusted to help the middle class and the poor?

Mayor Hides Behind Police Commissioner
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly announced that the protestors camping out in Zucotti Park will not be allowed to bring sleeping bags and other personal items once the park has been cleaned. The other day the Mayor said they would just clean the park and rather than have the courage to tell the protestors that sleeping bags and other items would not be allowed after it was cleaned, face to face the Mayor had Kelly make the announcement.
The protestors should camp in front of the Mayor's home to make their point and to let the Mayor know that he is part of the problem. If the protestor's were camping out in a poor neighborhood would the Mayor care?
Here is a link to the latest news on the Mayor's decision http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44892015/ns/local_news-new_york_ny/
