Working hard and helping your fellow man while trying to change a societies value system. This is a great story on the people who have helped to feed the people involved with Occupy Wall Street

Where are the Celebrities?
On 10/14/2011 Mayor Bloomberg will begin his attempt to remove the protestors from Wall Street. Tomorrow may see lots of arrests when the protestors try to go back into Zucotti Park after the cleaning. This causes me to ask where are the celebrities who believe in peaceful protest? Where is Michael Moore? Where is Al Sharpton? Where is Jesse Jackson? Where is Roseanne? Where is Tim Robbins? Where is Alec Baldwin? These are just a few of the names who have had comments or showed up at the park but don't seem to be around when the pressure is on. If the big names showed up tomorrow would the Mayor feel as empowered? Would it be easy for him to arrest Susan Sarandon? Would it be easy for him to arrest Jesse Jackson? The President and other politicians have said they agree and understand the protestors. Where are they when the situation becomes tough?
The new question becomes is who can really be trusted to help the middle class and the poor?

Mayor Hides Behind Police Commissioner
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly announced that the protestors camping out in Zucotti Park will not be allowed to bring sleeping bags and other personal items once the park has been cleaned. The other day the Mayor said they would just clean the park and rather than have the courage to tell the protestors that sleeping bags and other items would not be allowed after it was cleaned, face to face the Mayor had Kelly make the announcement.
The protestors should camp in front of the Mayor's home to make their point and to let the Mayor know that he is part of the problem. If the protestor's were camping out in a poor neighborhood would the Mayor care?

Money for Cooks and Wall Street but Not for Teachers and Firemen
In today's New York Daily News it was reported by Juan Gonzalez that the Mayor has hired 2 new cooks to handle an overflow of parties at Gracie Mansion. The Mayor has said that he may have to fire thousands of teachers but he has money for parties and for cooks? That money comes out of taxes that New York City citizens pay. So that means that the Mayor has mismanaged the money of the citizens of New York City for pleasure when there is no money for that pleasure. The 3 Gracie Mansion cooks cost tax payers $245,000 a year. Now I have nothing against the gentlemen that got jobs which are desperately needed but which is more important, 3 teachers to mold the minds of our youth or 3 cooks to make the Mayor look good for throwing a party? Mr. Bloomberg is having a wonderful time right now being Mayor at the expense of the New York City taxpayer.
Mayor Bloomberg has stated that if the Wall Street bonuses were stopped then New York City would lose the best talent available and the Wall Street money would go elsewhere. Why doesn't that also apply to teachers in the mind of the Mayor?
Yes, teachers do get a great pension plan but remember that they don't get bonuses. In order to get the best and the brightest teachers to make our children the best and the brightest we have to make it worth their effort. If we don't make it worth their effort they will go elsewhere such as other cities or to private industry. Teachers work hours outside of school to make up lesson plans and do grading. To all parents I ask can you imagine dealing with 30 or 40 of your kids for 6-8 hours a day? Among these reasons the Mayor should realize the only way to get the best and brightest is to pay them what they are truly worth.
To make matters even scarier the Mayor has closed up fire houses and is talking of laying off firefighters. Does that mean cooks are more valuable to New York City citizens than firefighters?
Some will say I've taken this to an extreme but the Mayor's actions are criminal. Write your city council members and let them know that the actions of the Mayor are criminal and if they don't act you will vote them out of office next time. Its time for the citizens of New York to take it back from a Mayor having a wonderful time at our expense and safety.
